MICA Selection Process 2027

Admission to MICA Ahmedabad includes the MICAT, or MICA Admissions Test, which is generally conducted in two phases. Appearing for both examinations is not compulsory. However, candidates who take both MICAT I and MICAT II may have their better score considered according to the applicable admission guidelines. Shortlisted applicants must subsequently participate in the final selection rounds, including GE and PI.

Step-I: Candidates must appear for one of the accepted management entrance examinations, namely CAT, XAT or GMAT.

Step-II: Candidates who have appeared for any of the accepted examinations can apply for MICAT. The MICAT assessment consists of the following sections:

• Section A: Psychometric Test
• Section B: Descriptive Test
• Section C: Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, General Awareness, and Divergent and Convergent Thinking

Step-III: GE & PI: Candidates shortlisted on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT and MICAT performance will be required to participate in the Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

GE & PI Shortlist Criteria

• Section A of MICAT, which is the Psychometric Test, acts as a qualifying section.
• Candidates who qualify in the Psychometric Test are assessed on their relative CAT/XAT/GMAT performance against the applicable cutoff.
• Applicants who clear Section A and meet the required CAT/XAT/GMAT criteria will then be evaluated on their performance in Section B of MICAT.
• Candidates qualifying Section B will subsequently be assessed on their performance in Section C.
• Applicants who successfully clear Sections A, B and C will be shortlisted for the GE/PI rounds, which may be conducted at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, as specified by MICA.

MICAT 2027 Cut Off

Cut-off marks refer to the minimum scores that candidates need to achieve to qualify for the examination or its respective sections. For MICAT 2027, sectional cut-offs in terms of percentile and raw scores are expected for Section B and Section C, including its individual sub-sections. Furthermore, only candidates who meet the prescribed cut-off requirements in Section C will have their performance in Section B evaluated.

* Candidates seeking admission to the PGDM programme should note that considerable importance is given to analytical skills. Therefore, the Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation sub-section of Section C may carry a comparatively higher cut-off.

MICAT 2027 Counselling

The MICAT 2027 admission process will take place after the merit list is released. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in the Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds based on their performance and merit.
